IT PROJECT MANAGER

Position Description:
The IT Project Manager leads exciting projects covering virtually all facets of technology projects. While this person doesn’t need to be the subject matter expert on a project, they should be well versed in technology and able to communicate effectively to hit deadlines and client expectations. The IT Project Manager is responsible for the management of technology related projects to include the technical administration, integration, logistics, process adherence, personnel and resource utilization, documentation and internal and external communication. In addition to project management, the IT Project Manager will assist with IT Manager duties that include management of the IT staff as well as the internal IT infrastructure such as the ticketing system, services software, hardware and similar functions. The IT Project Manager will work with the executive team for financial and strategic planning of projects. Strong ability to self-manage with little guidance or oversight and still accomplish the goals of time, budget and quality expectations.

 

Core Qualifications:

  • Three (3) or more years of experience specifically related to project management as a professional. In the technology sector is a plus.
  • Seven (7) or more years of experience working as a technology professional. Specifically, technology support with a focus on networking or server support.
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and similar protocols to include how they work and best practices.
  • Proficient with enterprise grade network hardware, software, configuration and installation.
  • Ability to diagnose network issues on corporate enterprise networks.
  • Experience with Windows Server, specifically Active Directory and best practices for configuration.
  • Basic understanding and working knowledge of VMware ESXi environment.
  • Valid driver’s license with minimal points on the driving record.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong ability to self-manage with little guidance or oversight.
  • Ability to lead projects and be a valuable and respectful team member.

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP Certification)
  • Experience leading multiple technology project simultaneously
  • Experience as a manager of direct reports
  • MSP or MSSP experience
  • Understanding of evolving security threats and regulatory requirements such as HIPAA, GLBA, PCI DSS, etc.
  • Microsoft Exchange Server configuration, installation and management experience
  • Network administrator experience
  • VMware ESXi certifications and in-depth experience
  • Microsoft SharePoint configuration, installation and management experience
  • Scripting experience
  • Voice over IP (VoIP) experience
  • Experience working in a small company environment (under 50 employees)

  • Recommends information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes; identifying problems; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements.
  • Maintains quality service by enforcing organization standards.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
